Zoe Richmond - Level 2
Zoe grew up in the mountains of Vernon before trading alpine views for costal vibes last year. She has almost a year of experience as a recent graduate of cosmetology school. Her love of reading had her devouring novels at the speed of light when not perusing local art shows or thrifting for her new favourite sweater.
Grace Paton - Level 2
Grace loves animals and has four at her family home in Cobble Hill. Having meaningful conversations with guests is what truly makes time fly for her. She works closely with Philip and is already a star! Her favourite food is seafood and she loves musicals, dance and fashion. Grace is courageous and loves new things. She is a loyal and dedicated person.
Karley Constance- Level 2
A naturally creative human who enjoys art of all mediums, specifically painting, photography, and of course HAIR! With a focus on low-maintenance, natural texture-enhancing razor cuts, think 60’s inspired shags, mullets and soft pettily French bobs. I like to give people a haircut that feels like them and embracing what they’ve got!
Taylor Holt - Level 3 Red Seal Level 2 Endorsement, (she/they)
Taylor has been part of the hair industry since 2018 and is passionate about creating a safe, uplifting space for everyone in her chair—all genders, all ages, and all abilities are welcome. She is Deva Cut certified, specializes in retro updos such as finger waves and victory rolls, and is an Evo vivid colorist. Whether you're looking for a low-maintenance cut or color, something eccentric and unique to you, or the latest trend, she’s excited to bring your vision to life.Dedicated to continuous learning, Taylor regularly attends industry classes at The Natural to stay ahead of evolving techniques and trends. Beyond formal education, Taylor loves seeking knowledge whoever she can get it and would happily spend a lifetime sitting in university lecture halls, soaking up knowledge.Born and raised on lower Vancouver Island, Taylor always knew she wanted to work in downtown Victoria. She loves its vibrant communities and how a change of scenery or something new is always just around the corner. She thrives on variety, which is why she chooses not to specialize—she enjoys doing a little bit of everything every day.
Madi Mouzakis - Level 3, (she/her)
Madi's been in the hair industry for over three years. She is very passionate about all things hair and she's especially drawn to lived-in blondes, shags and curly hair! Madi's a cheerleader, always supportive and uplifting. Her number one goal is make you feel like the best version of yourself you can be. Madi is a bubbly, bright person who spends her free time hanging out in nature, reading books, dancing around with friends and cuddling any cat she can find.
Arcelie (Anne) Lim - Level 4
This feisty Taurus is passionate about all things hair. An avid gardener, seamstress, reader and gym rat, Anne also speaks fluent Tagalog. Her first hair gig was at the age of 12, her favourite colour is rainbow and her work ethic is hardcore. She’s a master at men’s cuts, loves hair extensions and vivids.
Emylia Biegun - Level 4 (they/them), Curl Specialist + Certified Bellami Extensionist
Emylia has been doing hair since she was 17. Emylia identifies as nonbinary — they/them pronouns and provides a completely safe space with no judgement. Bright and bubbly, Emylia is good at everything, is certified in Bellami hair extensions and is a curly hair specialist. Come to her for any creative cut and colour, or to embrace your natural beauty and texture. Her goal is always to help you bring what’s on the inside to the outside as well.
They spend their free time hugging trees, standing by the ocean, being with friends and family and making any kind of music. Emylia is committed to sustainable living and social justice, she's also an animal and plant lover.
Lauren Ortiz (Hawley) - Level 4, Red Seal Endorsement
Lauren is a graduate from Vancouver Island University, with a red seal endorsement. She's goal-driven and ready for the many opportunities the hair industry has to offer. Lauren was born in the UK and moved to Canada at a young age. Growing up in the small town of Qualicum Beach, she has always appreciated spending time in nature.
Lauren loves to hike and camp, while exploring Vancouver Island. She has a passion for travelling, seeing the world, and experiencing and celebrating different cultures. In her free time, you can find her sewing, refurbishing and reupholstering furniture, focusing on reusing and repurposing materials to create something new and beautiful. With and eye for design, it's no wonder she has pursued a career as a hairstylist!
Sherilynn Dennett - Level 5, Curly Hair Specialist
Born in North Vancouver, her family relocated to the Errington area of the Island and then up to Courtenay. Sherilynn has lived in Mexico for over 5 yrs, returned to Vancouver and has returned to the Island to be closer to family. She found her passion for hair at the age of 6 and comes by her talent honestly, her mom was a stylist! Sherilynn is Toni and Guy trained, Bellami Certified, has studied in The Forever Curls Academy and under celebs Sam Villa and Denis Gebhart.
Elly Bakhshandeh- Level 5
A highly skilled professional hairdresser with 17 years of experience working in salons with international clientele. Extensive knowledge of globally recognized hair brands and expertise in modern highlighting techniques, hair coloring, balayage, and the latest hair trends and methods.
Passionate about precision haircuts, professional styling, and flawless blow-drying, always ensuring an attractive and long-lasting finish. Known for being a patient and attentive listener, taking the time to fully understand each client’s needs in order to deliver results that exceed expectations and leave every client with a confident smile.
Elly believes that every client has the potential to reveal even greater beauty through the right haircut or color. Her calm personality and broad experience have also made her highly trusted in eyebrow shaping and facial waxing, consistently providing comfortable and satisfying results.
Laura Flynn - Level 6, Extensions Specialist
Laura has been in the industry for over 20 years as a stylist and makeup artist, plus before that she was practicing on her siblings (they’re still her clients). She attended Martier School of Hair Design right out of high school and graduated in 2005. Laura is an abstract painter, ink artist and a busy mother of 3. This dynamic lady sees cutting as an extension of her artistic training and her cuts are custom to each client. If she could do it all, and it seems like she already is, she would also run her own café and do all the cooking. Laura works late nights and Saturdays to accommodate working moms and those clients who work a more traditional schedule.
Lydda Holt - Level 6 Cert IV – Hairdressing | Red Seal
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Lydda completed a 4-year apprenticeship with Toni&Guy & then continued on as a senior stylist. Her adventurous spirit then led her to wander the globe and finally to land here in Canada and she is now a proud citizen. Lydda's vibe is very chill and she is very much solely dedicated/focused on bringing your hair vision to life. With Lydda consultation is key, and she's always listening with intent. She's a quiet achiever when it comes to her passion for hair. All her energy and love for what she does goes into her work and relationships. With hair, Lydda is an all rounder. Loving all the elements of creating! In her spare time, Lydda loves to make new memories with her Fiancé and daughter Freyja. Hiking, biking, adrenaline sports, music, poetry, and all things outdoors are very much a part of who she is.
Reegyan Lepcha - Level 6
This talented and worldly stylist of over 21 years was born in Northeastern India and brought up in Bhutan (ranked one of the happiest countries in the world!). As a young man, Reegyan had to move to southern India to take care of his family. He found his passion for hairdressing unexpectedly after an aunt gifted him a small amount of money to take his first hair course. Within just a year, he won a L’Oreal New Generation Young Colourist Award, which propelled him to a new level and new life in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, which is where he received his advanced training. A Tony and Guy trained stylist, Reegyan specializes in precision cuts and has experience working with diverse clientele with a variety of hair textures.
On a personal note, Reegyan gains energy from working with a team in a creative atmosphere and is passionate about health & fitness and travelling to new places. We are happy he chose Victoria to set down roots.
Philip Ferreira - Level 7, Creative Director + Co-Owner
Philip was born and raised in Montreal by Portuguese immigrant parents. His father was a tailor and his mother worked by his side making leather goods. While the family struggled to make a living, Philip remembers always having beautiful leather jackets and being well supported and loved. Philip dreamt of being an architect but when the family relocated to Victoria in Grade 12, he didn’t speak enough English to attend college. With language as a barrier to education, he worked construction until he found a mentor who introduced him to the world of hair. He worked the night shift at Denny’s, travelled to Nanaimo for his BC hair license, all the while being a young father.
Philip is the only Canadian to have won International Trend Vision, Sassoon trained, he’s travelled the world educating and he’s an inspiring artist and cutter.
